We finished up a successful ASIS 2006 show in San Diego yesterday. Our booth was busy throughout the three days, with systems integrators, end users and media stopping by viewing the latest with exacqVision. We had several demo stations with multiple exacqVision servers with video cameras from the show floor and from remote locations through the internet connection.
The key features of interest in the exacqVision product line from those who stopped by the booth were the hybrid capability and the common client for all configurations.
Hybrid - exacqVision is a true hybrid DVR. Leverage your existing analog infrastructure now, and add IP cameras now and in the future. Configure as all-analog, or as hybrid analog/IP, or as all-IP, from small systems to enterprise level. Any analog camera is supported without having to add expensive analog-to-IP converters, and IP cameras from multiple vendors are supported.
Common Client - whether configuring small, 4-camera all-analog systems, or enterprise-level, multi-hundred camera all-IP systems, you use the same exacqVision client, with a contemporary and clean user interface. One client to learn, which controls and administers all systems remotely. The client is freely distributable to all users of the system.
Thank you to all who stopped by. We’ll be following up with copies of the client software for demo (which connects to an exacqVision server and cameras at our Indianapolis headquarters), as well as complete demo systems for the many who requested them.

ExacqVision: IP - Hybrid - Analog
We’re gathering in San Diego for the 52nd Annual ASIS International Conference and Expo, which starts Monday. We’ll be showing our exacqVision Advanced IP Video Surveillance Solutions in booth #2048 (our ASIS listing is here).
ExacqVision is a unique approach to Digital CCTV video. Our systems allow for any mix of analog and IP cameras, any resolution, frame rate and compression format, from small, low-cost installations to large enterprise systems, all using a contemporary, easy-to-use user interface.
Analog Cameras - Our small-footprint exacqVision systems can directly bring in 4, 16 or 32 analog cameras. Using our own hardware-based compression and industry-standard MPEG-4 compression, analog cameras are recorded at full frame rate (30 fps/25 fps), at up to D1 (4CIF) resolution, with superb video quality. Utilize and leverage your existing analog camera investment. Works with analog cameras from any vendor. No expensive analog-to-IP converters needed.
IP Cameras - In addition to the analog cameras, our exacqVision systems bring in any number of IP cameras from a variety of vendors (Axis, Sony, Toshiba, IQinVision, Bosch, JVC, Canon and more). Standard and Megapixel resolutions are supported, as well as PTZ, motion detection, and more. Utilize the latest IP camera technology today and have a true path for future expansion while leveraging your existing analog camera investment. Or implement exacqVision in an all-IP camera installation.
True Hybrid System - our exacqVision systems seamlessly mix and match any combination of analog and IP cameras, at any frame rate, resolution, compression format. This is a true Hybrid product that provides a common user interface for any number or type of camera. Utilize existing analog cameras at full frame rate, and expand with the latest IP cameras for today and in the future.
Standard exacqVision system configurations come in 2U-height rack-mount chassis with 16 or 32 analog camera inputs and 8 IP inputs standard, with the ability to expand to 16, 32, 64 or more IP cameras per system.
If you’re coming to San Diego for the show, be sure to stop by our booth. We’ll see you there!

We released Version 1.1 of the exacqVision software yesterday. In addition to a number of performance improvements and bug fixes, PTZ control is now included for analog cameras. Support for popular PTZ protocols including Pelco D and Pelco P, up to 16 presets per camera, up to 32 PTZ cameras per exacqVision Pro server via the RS-485 input, ability to control which users can control which cameras, and more.

PTZ control in exacqVision can occur in any view from any client connected to the server. In the main exacqVision viewing screen above, a Pelco PTZ camera is being viewed in the upper left window. Moving the mouse around the window brings up “ghost” arrows allowing real-time, intuitive PTZ control while viewing.
Additionally, PTZ control and presets pop-up windows can be placed anywhere on the screen . These controls automatically switch to the active PTZ camera selected.
Presets are easy to configure and label. Complete user permission controls determine who can create presets, who can control cameras and who can view cameras, all on a camera-by-camera basis.
The updated exacqVision client and server can be downloaded from our downloads page here. The new versions can be installed over the existing versions and all existing user information (users, presets, cameras, servers, views, etc.) remains unchanged.
